The Institute of Theater, Film and Media Studies at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Department of Modern Languages, is currently offering a full-time
Postdoctoral Position (TVL 13)
with an earliest possible starting date of October 1, 2018. The position has a fixed term of three years pursuant to the regulations of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz) in conjunction with the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessischen Hochschulgesetz).
About the position: The successful candidate will have academic responsibilities to conduct research and teach in the field of theater studies. Additional responsibilities will include the organization and administration of the TFM institute. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to engage in independent research and to advance his or her qualifications, in particular by working on a post-doctoral project (Habilitation). The position is affiliated with the institute chair, Professor Dr. Nikolaus Müller-Schöll.
Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a university degree and a PhD in theater studies. The candidate should also demonstrate in-depth knowledge of modern and contemporary theatre in all its forms as well as theater history and theater theory. The successful candidate will ideally have foreign language skills, organizational experience and experience conceptualizing and preparing third-party funding proposals.
The position also entails teaching responsibilities of six weekly seminar hours (SWS) and the task of providing the institute with organizational support to administer its courses of study and to develop a diversity concept. The ability to teach in English would be a plus.

Wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiterin/Mitarbeiters
mit einem Schwerpunkt in der Lehre

befristet für die Dauer von 3 Jahren zu besetzen.
Aufgabengebiet: Der/Die Stelleninhaber/in hat wissenschaftliche Dienstleistungen in Forschung und Lehre im Bereich der Theaterwissenschaft zu erbringen. Dazu kommen Dienstleistungen im Bereich von Organisation und Verwaltung des Instituts für TFM. Mit der Stelle verbunden ist eine Lehrverpflichtung im Umfang von 6 LVS sowie die Aufgabe, das Institut bei der Verwaltung seiner Studiengänge und der Entwicklung eines Diversitätskonzepts organisatorisch zu unterstützen. Dem/der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter/in wird Gelegenheit zu selbstbestimmter Forschung und Qualifikation, insbesondere zur Arbeit an einer Habilitation gegeben. Die Stelle ist Herrn Professor Dr. Nikolaus Müller-Schöll zugeordnet.
Einstellungsvoraussetzungen: Abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium sowie Promotion im theaterwissenschaftlichen Bereich. Der/die Bewerber/in soll über gute Kenntnisse des modernen und gegenwärtigen Theaters in allen seinen Spielarten als auch theaterhistorischer und –theoretischer Zusammenhänge verfügen. Wünschenswert sind Fremdsprachenkenntnisse, Organisationserfahrung, Erfahrung bei der Konzeption und Erstellung von Drittmittelanträgen sowie die Fähigkeit, auch in englischer Sprache zu unterrichten.
