Philip Hager

Greece

Philip Hager is Assistant Professor of theatre and politics at the School of Drama, Faculty of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. His research revolves around performance and the politics of (cultural) memory and/or the politics of urban space with a particular focus on Greek and European contexts. He has written journal articles and contributed to edited collections. He is co-editor of the edited collection Performances of Capitalism, Crises and Resistance: Inside/Outside Europe (Palgrave, 2015) and of the special issue ‘Dramaturgies of Change: Greek Theatre Now’ (Journal of Greek Media and Culture 3:2, 2017). His book Re-imagining Independence in Contemporary Greek theatre and Performance was published in 2013 (Cambridge Elements in Theatre, Performance and the Political, Cambridge University Press).
