EASTAP participates in Global Arts Pact
EASTAP has joined forces with other international associations in the Global Arts Pact (GAP), an international consortium that seeks to oppose ongoing attacks on the arts and humanities. As mentioned in its mission statement, GAP opposes attempts to ‘censor content, curtail research collaborations exhibitions, cancel grants or international initiatives on ideological grounds, and install policies that discourage or restrict qualified students from admissions, financial support, or fields of study’. GAP operates under the joint leadership of the International Federation for Theatre Research and Performance Studies International and will stage Town Hall Meetings which will focus on issues relating its remit.
