EASTAP ExComm Elections
EASTAP Executive Committee Elections
According to the Constitution of EASTAP Article 13, half of the 20 members of the association’s Executive Committee are elected every two years, including the 2 Emerging Scholar Representatives whose office tenure (due to the length of PhD studies) only lasts for 2 years.
Therefore, in 2024 there are the following vacant positions to be filled, and we now invite and encourage all members of the organisation to put themselves forward:
- 2 Emerging Scholar Representatives, for a tenure of 2 years
- 6 ordinary members of the Executive Committee, for a tenure of 4 years.
NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN NOW – DEADLINE 1 SEPTEMBER 24:

Submit your candidature supported by the (electronic) signatures of 10 current registered members from at least three countries. Use the email address associated with your EASTAP membership account.
With the exception of the ESRs, Ex Comm members are not elected for specific offices, but they will be allocated amongst all members at their constituting meeting during the 2024 Sitges conferences. However, the following tasks are vacant and we therefore encourage candidates to express their interest in these positions as they stand for election:
- Membership Secretary
- Communications Officer in charge of the EASTAP Website Content, Social Media, Newsletter and other Communications
- Fundraising officer
- Artist Representatives
- Liaison Officer for links with other organisations
To stand for election, all candidates must be current members of the association with an active membership registration. Candidates can join the association as new members for the purpose of standing for election.
Deadline for submitting the nomination form is 1 September 2024.
The election process is overseen by an Election Committee consisting of Christopher Balme as chair, Martynas Petrikas as co-chair, and Peter Boenisch and Asta Petrikiene as members of the EASTAP bureau.
