EASTAP’s Emerging Scholars Forum (23-26 May 2022, Milano)

Call for Participation  (deadline 15 Dec 2021)

EASTAP’s Emerging Scholars Forum (23-26 May 2022, Milano)

The Emerging Scholars’ Forum is a new platform for PhD candidates, MA students and early career scholars to meet and build an international community during the 2022 EASTAP conference, which will take place from 23-26 May 2022 at the Piccolo Teatro in Milano.

The Emerging Scholars’ Forum aims to foster welcoming spaces and supportive infrastructure where people can present their research for the first (or second) time to academic peers and a wider European research community. The forum invites you to share your current research project, which does not need to follow the specific theme given for the annual conference. In the forum, you can address a plethora of questions, issues and hopes regarding your specific research question, your positionality, the subject area, context and scope of your research project, methodologies and methods, how to find mentors and peers, or how to even go about submitting an abstract and presenting a paper at an academic conference.

For the 2022 gathering, EASTAP’s Emerging Scholars Forum welcomes 10min long presentations on any aspect of theatre, dance and performance studies. In addition to presenting your research project and receiving peer-feedback on it, we invite participants to workshop and community building activities during the conference.

Importantly, EASTAP 2022 is the first time the forum will take place in person, and therefore we want to hear from you: What is your positionality and what are your needs and wishes as emerging scholars? How can the Emerging Scholars Forum at EASTAP support you in your own research journey and professional development? What questions do you have about the conference and for the conference organizers?

How to apply?
